CLUB EVENTS THIS YEAR
"Что там, в школе?"
спектакль школы Азбука
Our last Club event this academic year was the School theatre production.
This year’s AZBUKA School annual theatre project production was built around the history of Russian School. It was based on the stories of Russian classics as well as contemporary writers.
As always in our AZBUKA Studio – the whole production has been prepared by, designed and conducted by the children themselves (with a little help from AZBUKA teachers). Every Term during the ‘art Studio’ (which is part of our curriculum) they become musicians, actors, directors and producers – all in the Russian language, having creative fun!
4 May 2013 - AZBUKA Club held Russian Easter celebration. Children painted eggs and made different Easter decorations.
We organized The Science Club this Spring.
We had a wonderful SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PRODUCTION
and we hosted the NEW YEAR PARTY for our children as well.
ACCORDION AND BALALAIKA
Children from Azbuka school and club met musicians who play russian instruments - accordion and balalaika.
1 JULY 2012 AZBUKA SUMMER PRODUCTION
RUSSIAN FAIR AT AZBUKA
Yet again we had a fantastic end-of-year production at AZBUKA School. This year the students of AZBUKA School presented a performance entitled "The Russian Fair", as a summer project of the Theatre Studio. The children and audience certainly enjoyed the beautiful Russian folk songs, dances, folklore, crafts, music and traditional refreshments. The whole cast performed magnificently, with lots of energy and enthusiasm. The costumes, backdrops and props were all very rich in design and colour, all of this helping to bring a small part of the rich Russian culture and history into the school. As usual, the performance was prepared, designed, staged and played by our children, with a little help from the AZBUKA teachers. Every Saturday our children become musicians, directors and producers in the Theatre Studio. All of this being the merry process of theatre preparation for the big day that was carried out in Russian. Well done to all for a fantastic production!

Bilingual Education + Bilingual Education Conference
Knowing and being in touch with the latest research in bilingualism and bilingual education is a key component to effective methodology in teaching Russian (or any foreign language) for bilingual children. At AZBUKA we endeavour to continue to improve our education/teaching methods to the benefit of the children’s Russian language education in the bilingual context. Additionally, it helps to ensure the staff are well versed in the best and most effective educational techniques.
The recent International conference on bilingual education USA was very exciting and provided useful contribution to our teaching curriculum at AZBUKA. Join the Club and learn more. . .
A short message for all people enquiring about Russian speaking nannies! We do operate a small list of Russian speaking au-pairs and teachers, but we are not an agency. Some people who are listed have been part of AZBUKA Nursery and School and this is the benefit for people – we know some of them well and can recommend them personally to other people. The list of available nannies is only open to Club members. Once you have joined ‘Azbuka Club’ we will then be able to provide, on request, details on the mailing list for new candidates.
No agencies please!
